tens days of huge festivities on land and at sea, with over 300 events that include sailing, water sports, culture, art and social and educational activities all based on the theme of the sea. “La Regata dei Record” (Record-breaking regatta) will take place, according to tradition, on the second Sunday in the month, 13 October. The race to victory will be accompanied by other festive events: the Barcolana Young race (5 -6 October) for young competitors aged 8 – 15. On the same days, the Barcolana Nuota (open-water swimming competition) will take place, as well as the Lega Italiana Vela: kickoff Under 19 (J/70 regattas).

Highlights of the event will include the Barcolana By Night, the nocturnal challenge between the UFO, Meteor and J/70 categories (12 October), the Barcolana Classic and the parade of vintage boats, as well as the regatta along the coast to Barcola (12 October). On land, instead, the festival will continue at the Villaggio Barcolana (6 -14 October), with cultural events for all enthusiasts.


Experience the thrill of admiring the sunset over the lagoon from the top of a hot-air balloon tied flight from the Costa Azzurra beach.

Every Tuesday from May 7th to September 27th book your exclusive cooking show to discover the secrets of the typical Grado dish, the Boreto a la graisana.

The event starts at 10.15 am at the Serenella Restaurant (Schiusa Island)

On Thursday, once a month, you will be able to taste Santonego, typical Grado liqueur, alongside other traditional dishes while listening to its history and the way it is produced.

This characteristic liqueur is composed of grappa and wormwood from the sea which is a small perennial plant that grows spontaneously in lagoon and saline locations.

Every Monday from May to September, the Nature Bus will give you the opportunity to discover the spectacular nature protected areas located near Grado: Valle Cavanata and Isola della Cona.

The bus will leave at 9.10 a.m. from Città Giardino, a few meters from Hotel Residence Sanremo, and will return at 4.45 p.m.

You can book the tour directly from our Hotel until Saturday at noon.

The excursion includes a guided tour of the Valle Cavanata, lunch at a farm in Fossalon and a guided tour of the Isola della Cona. You will be able to see a large variety of animals: not only many different species of birds, but also deers, hares, skunks, martens, foxes, badgers, squirrels, hedgehogs and the famous Camargue white horses.

Every Wednsday the Archeobus takes you to discover Aquileia

Grado and Aquileia, two neighboring towns that have shared history, art and culture for thousands of years.
The free bus service stops only a few steps from the Hotel Residence Sanremo at 9.05 and returns at 13.30 ca.

The bus will take participants to the nearby Aquileia, where they will be welcomed by a free guide, the guide will accompany the tourists throughout the visit, starting from the walk along the river port to get to the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, where they can visit the crypts at a reduced price (€ 4.00 including audio guides, to be paid locally). Once out of the Basilica, visitors will be able to admire the Domus and the Episcopal Palace, after which they will head towards the Cocambo, an artisan roasting company and artisan chocolatier’s workshop where there will be a moment of meeting with various local wine producers belonging to the Consortium for the Protection of Friuli Aquileia DOC Wines with tasting.


With the spring, the acrobatic season of the beloved Frecce Tricolori also begins, Italian pride, but specially Friulian pride, having a home – or rather a hangar – at Rivolto airport. The first performance is scheduled for May 5th in Grado, which will officially start the Pan’s air shows.
